The release of the album was much anticipated as we had been working on the artwork and promotion for most of the previous year. I wanted something that would be reminiscent of classic artwork from the bands that had been influential to me, the likes of Pink Floyd. So this had to be right, it had to be the best release I had ever been involved with…and it was.
The critical reaction was better than I imagined it to be, but then with a slight tongue-in-cheek, I felt it was something the album could achieve. Shortly after the release I was given the opportunity to support Justin Currie of Del Amitri, which has to of been a big highlight of this year for me and the response from his fans was brilliant. As a result I still have a lot of Justin’s fans coming out to watch me now.
The last six months have seen me travel to all corners of the U.K. and also some Ireland dates, I have enjoyed talking to those of you who had already had the album and those who bought the album from me at a gig.
As for the second half of the year I am going to be heading to the continent for some shows. I have been asked to play the Rolling Stone Weekender festival in Germany on the same bill as one of my favourite , bands ‘Travis’. So we will also be booking plenty of other dates in Germany to coincide with this.
I have also been writing and thinking about a new album, but this will be a work in progress for a while, so I will keep you up to date on my progress with this.
Thank you all for your continued support and lovely messages about the album. It’s a real help hearing how much you’re enjoying it.
See you all soon at a gig.
