You may have noticed that I have posted performances we did for Under the Apple Tree Sessions with Whispering Bob Harris recently. Thank you for watching and sharing. Just in case you missed them, I thought I would send you the links so you could check them out. These include a couple of new tracks that we have recorded and a version of one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs “Wish You Were Here”.
In addition to this Bob has also invited me and the band to go and do a Radio 2 session in January which will be ready for around the time of the album release. This is just one of the a few great things to have come from the Under the Apple Tree Sessions and of course meeting Bob. Please go and check out the Under the apple tree site and support the brilliant Bob does for unsigned musicians.
I can tell you all, that we are very close to finishing the album. All that is left to do is to add the last few finishing touches and Mix and Mastering. There will be some exciting news about the mixing of the album, which I can’t wait to tell you more about once it is all finalised.
Recent events mean that it’s going to be more important to release the album earlier next year, in order to give it the best chance of success. This is something you have all contributed to and I thank you so much for your patience and support. I am looking forward to having the album finished and you all hearing it.
I’m also excited to tell you I have another trip planned to Nashville at the end of March 2016. Since the last visit in 2014, I was invited to play at the Bluecoat as part of the “BlueBird to the Bluecoat” sessions, where myself and 20 other songwriters had the chance to play a song to great Nashville songwriters such as Kim Richie, Don Henry, Jim Lauderdale and Radio 2’s Bob Harris. Many great things have come from this, including the opportunity to play at the Bluebird Cafe.
As you will know, we will be releasing the new album on Vinyl, but a lot of you have enquired about a vinyl edition of “Life in Easy Steps”. Therefore we have decided to do a 300 limited edition Vinyl, which will be personally signed and numbered. This will feature the album plus a 7” single of The Bomb complete with booklet and collectible postcards. These albums will be available at gigs in January onwards but to ensure you get your copy you can pre-order it now. Keep your eyes peeled for more details.
Things have been quiet whilst we have concentrated on the album, but don’t worry we have been planning for next year which will see some exciting gigs including festivals, support tours, a tour of my own and some interesting collaborations.
